Happy Fall to you! Little Robbie is still tearing up the growth charts at over 17 pounds and 27" long. He is wearing clothing in the 9 months size, but we can hardly keep him in any size for very long.
A couple of weeks ago we transitioned Robbie from Momma's bed to his crib. It was harder on Momma than baby, though. The last night he slept with her she cried, knowing he would be in his bed the next night. He has done amazingly well with this transition. Momma is still getting used to it and is missing his little snuggles in the middle of the night. Daddy is just happy we are all getting sleep!
We entered Robbie into a costume contest this weekend at Crown Center's Pumpkin Patch. We've posted pictures of him at the contest in his little spider costume. We were SHOCKED when he didn't win. His cuteness was clearly overlooked by the judges. We wanted to get his pictures amongst the pumpkins, but the weather was in the 40's and we had him so bundled up you would have only seen his little face. We will get some pumpkin pictures before the month is over, though.
Robbie has been stretching his vocal chords as he practices different consonant sounds. He loves to have "conversations" with Mommy and Daddy. You can hear him in the video posted today. He also loves to sit in his new jumpy seat that hangs from the door frame, or any other means of being upright. He prefers to stand rather than lay or sit if he has the choice. He can sit unassisted now, but still can't get himself into the sitting position from laying down.
We haven't taken the "official" 5 month picture yet. We plan to get some pictures of him with pumpkins and then we'll have professional ones taken again when he turns 6 months. We're posting what we took at the costume contest and others since his turned 5 months on the 8th and will try to post more later. We also added a couple of pictures at the end of the 4 month album.
We hope you enjoy these. As you can see, his little personality continues to bloom. He is such a happy baby all the time. What you see in the video is pretty much what he is like for most of the day: happy go-lucky.Comments:Add a comment:

Well, our little baby is starting to feel less like a baby more and more each day. He is 4 months old now and weighs 16 pounds, 9 ounces and is 26 inches long. He is already rolling over in every direction, and can almost sit up without support. He stands with assistance and doesn't like to be laying down for long. He is drooling pools, but no teeth yet. He is sleeping 6-8 hours a night! Although at times he seems pretty interested in what Momma is eating when he's on her lap at meal time, he seems pretty content with his own milk. We won't start cereal until he is 6 months.
He is still a happy little baby and Momma and Daddy are more proud every day. Visit our photo album for new 4 month pictures.Comments:Aunt Bessie: I saw your 4 mos. pics. "Lil Rob" is not so
little anymore. He looks more and more like
"Big Rob" around the eyebrows.Add a comment:

It's been a while since we posted, in fact our site was disabled because we didn't post for more than 30 days. Sorry to any of you who tried to access the site. We'll try to not let it go inactive again.
Robbie is now 3 months old and he seems so much older than that! He is so vocal. He takes in everything around him and I swear sometimes it seems he really understands what I'm saying to him. He laughs and smiles all the time. The newest thing lately is that he has found his feet and hands. He is starting to suck his thumb. When he is in his car seat he watches himself move his toes. This week while on his tummy, he actually scooted himself a few inches to reach a toy. We are amazed!
I will try to post some videos, but last time I tried to post videos they wouldn't work on this site. I have also posted some new pictures.
Hope all of our friends and family are well and staying cool this summmer! Be safe!Comments:Add a comment:

Wow! The time has really flown by and Robbie is growing so fast! He is 7 weeks old now. He is smiling and responding to us when we come into the room or talk to him. He has been holding his head up since 2 weeks old and is gaining control of it more and more each week. He has also been pushing up with his arms when he lays on our chest for weeks now. This week he started rolling from his tummy to his back so now tummy time has to include a Boppy or other pillow under him!
He has such a good disposition. He wakes up smiling each morning and only fusses if his meal or nap is delayed too long. He sleeps 3-4 hours at a time and feeds well. He was gaining a pound a week for the first 6 weeks, so now he weighs over 11 pounds!
We had one month pictures taken and have some videos we will work on loading to this site, so stay tuned for more updates!Comments:Grandma B: You must be doing everything right. What a boy. I can hardly wait to see him again.Grandma Mimi: That's MY boy!!!!!! Love watching him grow!Add a comment:

Robbie is three weeks old and growing so fast! He's almost out of newborn clothes now since he's put on more than two pounds since he came home from the hospital. He weighs over 8.5 pounds now. He has such bright eyes and has some very alert wakeful periods during the day (and sometimes at night.) He loves to sleep on our chest and snuggle. He also raises his head to look at you when you hold him. Mommy and Daddy have both caught him smiling at them...and we insist it wasn't gas!
Rob's mom has been visiting this week from South Carolina and has been such a huge help in cooking meals and caring for Robbie while Momma and Daddy try to get some rest. She will be missed when she leaves on Monday! Rob has one more week off of work. After June 8th it'll be just Robbie and Mommy during the days, trying to fit into some sort of routine.
We've posted a few more pictures for you to enjoy. Thanks for visiting our webpages!Comments:Aunt Bessie: Grandma Pete has told me about the bright-eyed
baby and how she is going to miss him when she
goes home Monday. Make good use of her while
she is there. When she is gone, you will be all
alone. I know she has enjoyed herself immensely.Add a comment:

We came home from the hospital on Tuesday and have been settling in as a family. My dad has been here this week and that has been very helpful in allowing me to rest and Rob to go work out or to run errands.
Robbie had his first follow up doctor appointment on Wednesday at 5 days old. He weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces. He has gained weight since leaving the hospital and the doctor was pleased. He measured...get this!...20 & 1/4 inches! He did NOT grow 2 &1/4 inches in 6 days! The hospital must have measured incorrectly. I thought he was longer than 18 inches and when he came out the doctor kept mentioning how long he was. He was most likely 20 inches at birth. Someone did not follow the "measure twice, cut once" rule of carpentry.
Robbie is a week old today and he is such a blessing to us! We can't get enough of him and love to sit and just watch him. Being a mother is such an amazing experience and I'm so grateful God has allowed me to have Robbie!
I am posting a video of him in his "light sleep" mode. He makes cute little facial expressions as he is falling asleep. We even get a little smile from him in his sleep. One day we'll get this when he is awake as he grows and develops, but right now this is the sweetest thing I've ever seen!
--Robbie's MomComments:Pat: Dawn reading your experience as being a First time Mother, brings back to me many, many memories of Carla and Patrick, memories which I have forgotten, now my Grandgirls has taken a even more special meaning, Thank you, you and Robbie are going to be the BEST Parents. :-)Kevan and Glory: We are so happy for both of you- the new parents! I'm sure just like Kevan and I with Jacob cherish every moment you have with Robbie. All the little noises and movements he makes really will touch your hearts in such a special way. God bless your growing family.Add a comment:

Little Robbie is here at last!! He was born on Friday May 8th at 9:17am. The little middle-weight came in at 6lbs 13oz and was 18 inches long. Mom did very well through the surgery. She was rolled in at 9am, dad followed ten minutes later and Robbie Jr. came on in seven minutes after that.
In the last couple of days several milestones have been reached. Mom was able to have all the wires and connectors taken off of her Saturday morning which made her feel 100% better. Robbie has learned the art of latching and has become a pro at it. Although his routine seems to be using mommy as his own personal pacifier. He's gotten into a little habit of latching and then dozing off, latching and dozing off and then repeat. Looks like mom has become his favorite drug of choice.
Robbie has now had his first set of "professional" pictures taken by the hospital staff. He got all dressed up for the occasion by sporting his Pooh outfit. The photo that was used has him with three fingers sticking up signifying his rank as the third. What a smart little guy!
He passed his hearing test on the first go around Saturday and was circumcised on Mother's day. With all that going on the little guy just wants to be left alone now to eat and sleep. Although he especially seems to enjoy sleeping in the comfort of mom and dad's arms (or at least they like to think so). When they are open his eyes are so bright and they dart back and forth which keeps Dad mesmerized and entertained.
Mom is doing well and can now walk around and shower on her own. She feels like she's among the living now and quickly getting back to a new level of normalcy. She's been such a trooper through this ordeal and hasn't complained about anything. She's been called a model patient. Dad and son could not agree more.
We have the option of going home Monday or Tuesday. As of today we are leaning toward Tuesday but will see how things go for the rest of today and tomorrow.
The feeling of being a parent is pretty incredible. We are soaking in every minute of it and are so thankful to God for giving us this precious gift. Thanks to everyone for their continued prayers and support. More updates to come as begin this new, exciting journey!!Comments:Pat: congrat. to you both, have been enjoying pictures on facebook and the many that Grandma Linda has been sending me, I can't wait till she comes up there and holds Robbie for the first time. Take care all three and God Is Sooo Good :-)Aunt Bessie: Congratulations!! Thank God for a normal, healthy baby. BUT NOW...The REAL fun begins!!!Paige: Can't wait to meet Robbie. What a blessing!Add a comment:

Well, I'm home from my External Version procedure. The first thing they did was a detailed sonogram, not unlike the level II sono to check all organs, limbs, growth, ect. He looks perfect, of course. :) He was lying with his head in my right rib, his spine along my diaphragm and his little butt is slightly below my left ribcage. His feet are in my cervix area and his knees are bent to his belly. He was laying on his right side so the only thing we couldn't see was his right arm since he seems to be laying on it. His weight was estimated to be 6.5 pounds, but the margin of error is two pounds, so he could be as heavy as 8.5 lbs.
They then took me to the c-section area where they put an IV in and started some fluids. Right before the doctor started the procedure they gave me a medication in the IV to calm the uterus and prevent contractions. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor and started getting a baseline reading. The monitor did show some very small contractions but I couldn't feel them. The anesthesiologist came in to get a quick history just in case we had to do an emergency c-section. This is standard protocol for this procedure. Then the doctor came in with a smaller sonogram machine and started the procedure.
She gooped up my belly with lube and started to gently but firmly press on my belly under his bottom and behind his head (which is by now wedged under my ribs.) Every so often she would check on him with the ultrasound machine to see that his heart rate indicated he was not stressed. He wasn't phased AT ALL by the procedure. In fact, he wouldn't budge a bit. The doctor had said that there was enough fluid that she expected to be able to "turn him like butter" but the little guy had no part of moving from his comfy little placenta pillow. He showed no signs of stress, but he certainly also showed no signs of giving in, either. The doctor said he was a stuborn little guy. In fact, she was laughing as she left the room and said something to the effect of: "Good luck with this one!" He takes after BOTH his parents on the stubborn factor, by the way. I think he's just really laid back and just not bothered by something like a little shove here or a push there... just like his Daddy!
So, we are a go for the c-section on Friday, May 8th at 9am, unless my water breaks before that and then it would be shortly after the water broke. After going through the birthing classes I'm a little disappointed but also just ready to have him here. At least now that it's scheduled the guessing game of when will I go into labor is over and I can actually plan a few last minute things, like having the car seat inspected before hand, etc.
So, unless you hear from us before hand that something unexpected happened early, the next report could be a birth announcement! Looks like I'll be a momma before Mother's Day!Comments:Paige: This will be the BEST Mother's Day ever!!!Aunt Besie: "LIL ROB" is being born under the sign of Taurus
which accounts for his stubbornness and laid-
back nature. He will do things on his terms.Pat: I'm happy for you Dawn, looking forward from an email from your Mother Inlaw letting us know that Little Robbie is safely in your arms, will be praying for you. :-)Lindsay: Many thoughts and prayers are with you!! Happy Mother's Day a little early! What a great Mother's Day present you will have -- I would know, I was born ON Mother's Day!! :) Can't wait to hear about the babe once he's out!Kevan and Glory: We are so glad that you and the baby made it through the External Version without any problems, although without any position changes. It's probably Little Robbie's way of saying he's content and is ready to come into the world to his parent's as an early Mother's Day gift!Michelle: It is kind of nice knowing when things are going to happen and being able to be ready. Still the day of will be just overwhelming and exciting. Let me know if you want to get together some time next week to talk about c-sections, I work right over here off 87th and I-35 (I actually saw you get off at 95th street the other day).
All three of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are SOOOO excited for you!Add a comment:

Here we are, 38 weeks today and Little Robbie is still nesting comfortably footling breech. My doctor did not check for dilation today because she doesn't want to risk puncturing the bag of waters, so I don't know if I have progressed beyond the 1cm dilation and 100% effaced of last week. I have not experienced any contractions this week so I doubt it, although I have have some slight cramping since leaving the doctor's office.
I have had two acupuncture sessions this week and am scheduled for one more tomorrow morning with a Chinese medicine clinic who claims a 100% success rate with turning breech babies, barring any "structural" problems. My doctor assures me there is no structural or other abnormality with either me or the baby. I've also seen a chiropractor this week who is trained in women's health and pregnancy to focus on loosening the ligaments supporting the uterus to allow baby more room to turn. Even though I'm doing everything I can to try and turn him "naturally", we are still scheduled for the external version on Friday at 8am. If we still have no success and he remains breech, my doctor has scheduled me for a c-section next Friday, May 8th, at 9am. Of course, if he's turned by then and no longer breech, we'll cancel the c-section and just wait until he decides to come. My doctor won't wait much past a week overdue, though and would induce if he waits too long.
So, this next few days to a week will tell us a lot. Either way, we'll have a baby in the next 10 days to couple of weeks!
We read and enjoy each of your comments. Thank you all for your prayers and your support. Michelle, I will definitely want to learn from what you learned regarding c-sections and recovery if we go that way!
More updates as we have things to share!Comments:Lindsay: Hey girl...I washed the SUV around 37 weeks and I think that's when Lexi turned on her own. I didn't ever feel any big movements (which having heard from others, even the baby flipping on their own can hurt), so I bet she turned when I was up and down and upside down trying to get the car sparkling clean before her arrival!! Not sure if this will work for you, but I'll say a prayer that little Robbie gives you a shot at a vag delivery!! :) If not, it'll all be worth having him in your arms! Best wishes! Love, LindsayMichelle: If he is breech, you will probably not have a lot of contractions as there's not the presure from the head but from the feet. With Will, I had full tummy pressure if I did a lot of walking/shopping but can't say I really had a full on contraction...until Zac - who was definately not breech.
We'll keep praying and keep watching for posts about little Robbie.Glory Rogers: You are down to the wire and Kevan and I are so excited for you both. We know God will be with you all the way. We will continue to pray for you.Add a comment:

Hello, everyone! We are 37 weeks today. I had my weekly doctor's appointment today and Little Robbie is still feet first. In fact, I am dilated to 1cm (same as at last week's appointment) and my cervix is 100% effaced (thinned out). Dr. Wittek could feel his feet! Isn't that strange to think about!! She consulted with a perinatologist (a high-risk pregnancy specialist) on whether the baby can be manually turned at my current stage of progression. The perinatologist, Dr. Wickstrom, agreed he can and we have the procedure (External Version) scheduled for next Friday, May 1st at 8am. It will take place in the hospital, so that if there are complications or if I go into labor we are in the right spot to handle it. The procedure consists of two physicians pushing (to put it lightly) on my belly from the outside to manipulate the baby into the head-down position. I have seen the procedure done and it looks pretty brutal to the mom. I'm told it is very "uncomfortable" but I think that is putting it nicely.
The doctor has told me that if my water breaks or if I start to have regular painful contractions to call and come on into the hospital to be checked. She doesn't want me to labor at home because Robbie cannot be born safely in the feet-down position. I'm going to try to remain calm if labor starts but praying that he turns on his own before that happens to prevent any emergent conditions or complications. I'm also trying to resign myself to having a c-section, just so I'm not crushed when/if it has to happen. As long and he comes out safely and a healthy, happy baby we'll be happy!
We'll keep you posted! Remember, if you want to be on the mailing list for a quick email update, please let me know and I'll add you: emaildawners@gmail.com
Love,
DawnComments:Michelle: I really, really wanted to have a regular delivery with Will but after I had a c-section, I was okay with it and actually was fine with it for Zac as well. Let me know if you want to have an idea of what to expect during and after if you do have a c-section. There were things I found out after that I wish I would have known before that really helped me with handling the c-section with Zac.Aunt Bessie: Remember, God is in charge. Everything has been
ordained from the beginning of time.Glory Rogers: Dawn- Kevan and I will be praying for you and Little Robbie. God is always faithful and will be with you and help you and the baby through this time. Everything will be alright. We love you all.Add a comment:
