Merry Christmas! We hope you have had a happy Christmas season. We enjoyed Christmas eve with Dawn's parents and a candle light service at her old childhood church last night. Dawn took advantage of being able to sleep until 9 a.m. for possibly the last Christmas morning today and we have had a nice quiet day at home together today.

We have finished the nursery, all except for buying a rocker and dresser and hanging some things on the walls. We are posting pictures of the nursery as it is now. We also have a picture of Dawn at 20 weeks pregnant. We are halfway to holding our little boy!

    Have a safe New Year!

    IT'S A BOY: ROBERT WILLIAM MYERS,III

The level II sonogram today showed a healthy-looking baby boy. He currently weighs 11 oz. Although we are 18 weeks and 6 days pregnant today, he is measuring 5 days ahead. They said they weren't going to change our due date but his measurements and weight shows he is growing and doing well. He is "symmetrical" meaning his arms and his legs and his body and head are all growing at a normal rate. Dawn's parents were present at the ultrasound, as of course was Rob.

You can see two videos of the ultrasound posted and hear and see the tech pointing things out with her little pointer on the screen. One video shows the profile and arms moving. The other shows him putting his thumb into his mouth. We have a VHS tape of the entire sonogram, but we also taped some using our video camera on our digital camera. Unfortunately we forgot to start it earlier when the "boy" parts were very evident but we do have a still photo to prove it! I'm glad we brought our digital camera, because it's better to hear the tech point things out as we go. Our VHS tape they made of the whole thing only shows the silent movie version of the sonogram but we're still going to make it into a DVD.

Last week Dawn described some "pings" of baby movement on a few occasions. She has felt some flutterings of baby movement this week. Rob had a tradition when we met that we have tried to keep. On the night of the first snow storm of the year that stuck to the ground we order Chinese carry-out and rent a movie to enjoy while we eat. We don't order Chinese on any other night of the year, so this one is special. Earlier this week we had our Chinese night. Dawn ordered her usual: General Tsao's Chicken. She ate a very hot red pepper and about half-an-hour to an hour later she felt distinct baby movement. Maybe Baby Robbie was also celebrating the snow fall and Chinese take out!

Today is our third anniversary and we celebrated after the sonogram by driving in the snow storm to eat at Brio on the plaza. It's the restaurant where we had our first date and first met face-to-face after meeting on-line through Yahoo personals and emailing and IM'ing for several weeks. It was a nice way to spend the day together. We then went to a movie, something we usually don't do...we are renters.

Rob has started priming and painting the nursery. This past weekend we bought and put together the crib so we could see how high up the wall to put the border. Things are really coming together and we can't wait to see the finished product. We'll post pictures of the room when there is something to see. Right now it's primed and has a freshly painted ceiling. (Dawn has a thing for painting the ceiling that Rob doesn't understand but tolerates well.)

The fact that we are going to have a real live person with us in less than 5 months was made very real to both of us today. We are very excited and so grateful to finally be experiencing this pregnancy and everything that goes along with it. We are very happy to share this with you all.

Thank you for stopping by and we look forward to sharing more and to reading your messages. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas season and pray for blessings in your lives, too, this coming new year.
